A flight of paint­ings on But­ler Av­enue

Local beer brewer of­fers sam­pling of his art­work in Store­front gallery

AMBLER » In the world of craft beer, a “flight” is a small sam­pling of a brewer’s work, a show­case of dif­fer­ent styles, col­ors, and tastes of beer — some­thing of a drink­able mini-ex­hibit.

For Daniel Endi­cott, who makes up half of the beer-brew­ing duo at For­est & Main Brew­ing Co., that’s a fa­mil­iar kind of ex­hibit.

How­ever, this month, the brewer will be show­cas­ing a dif­fer­ent kind of work, one with far less hops and bar­leys in­volved. Start­ing Nov. 17, Endi­cott’s paint­ings will be on dis­play in the Art in the Store­front gallery on But­ler Av­enue.

While an art open­ing might seem like an odd change of pace for some­one best known as a beer brewer, any­one vaguely fa­mil­iar with For­est & Main prob­a­bly won’t be sur­prised by this an­nounce­ment.

Since it first opened back in 2012, there’s clearly been an artis­tic mind at work in the brew­pub. For proof, just look at the la­bels on For­est & Main’s bot­tles and cans, an ever-chang­ing ar­ray of trippy wa­ter­color de­signs and odd­ball char­ac­ters.

That artis­tic mind is Endi­cott’s, who in 2016 told us each new beer la­bel, which can take as much as a week to cre­ate, con­tin­ues one long story — a slowly-un­fold­ing, beer­soaked yarn.
