Bank hon­ors branches, em­ploy­ees for sup­port of chil­dren’s char­ity

Firstrust Bank re­cently held the Richard J. Green Club Awards Din­ner cel­e­brat­ing the bank’s branches and em­ploy­ees that had gone “above and beyond” dur­ing their an­nual Va­ri­ety fundrais­ing month. The hon­orees were treated to din­ner and ac­co­lades at the Lucky Dog Sa­lon & Grille in Con­shohocken.

Since 1935, Va­ri­ety – The Chil­dren’s Char­ity, a 501(c)3 or­ga­ni­za­tion, has aimed at building in­de­pen­dence and self-con­fi­dence in chil­dren and youth with dis­abil­i­ties lo­cated through­out the Delaware Val­ley by en­gag­ing them in recre­ational, so­cial and ed­u­ca­tional en­rich­ment ac­tiv­i­ties, while con­nect­ing fam­i­lies to re­sources.

The vic­tim ar­ranged to meet the male, later iden­ti­fied as Waghorn, at a park on Nov. 1, where he was taken into cus­tody.

In ad­di­tion to one count of rape, Waghorn has been charged with three counts of in­vol­un­tary de­vi­ate sex­ual in­ter­course with a mi­nor, un­law­ful con­tact with a mi­nor, statu­tory sex­ual as­sault, sex­ual as­sault, ag­gra­vated in­de­cent as­sault, sex­ual abuse of chil­dren in­volv­ing pho­tographs, un­law­ful con­tact with a mi­nor, cor­rup­tion of mi­nors, in­de­cent as­sault, and re­lated of­fenses.

He was ar­raigned be­fore Dis­trict Judge Pa­tri­cia Zaf­farano and taken to Mont­gomery County Pri­son on $500,000 cash bail. A pre­lim­i­nary hear­ing is sched­uled for Nov. 16.
