Renowned artist to sup­port kids with dis­abil­i­ties

On Sun­day, Novem­ber 12, Va­ri­ety — the Chil­dren’s Char­ity of Delaware Val­ley, will host an art show with renowned artist Howard N. Wat­son at Ris­torante Toscano, 213 N. Broad Street, Lans­dale. Howard Wat­son is a na­tion­ally rec­og­nized wa­ter­col­orist and il­lus­tra­tor and has com­mis­sioned pieces for some very famous peo­ple.

Pres­i­dent Jimmy Carter, Vice Pres­i­dent Wal­ter Mon­dale, singer Perry Como, Hall of Fame Coach Jack Ram­sey, art col­lec­tor Set Momjian, Sportscaster Tom Brook­shier and Pres­i­dent Bill Clin­ton have com­mis­sioned his paint­ings. He was the Artist in Res­i­dence at the White House dur­ing the Carter Ad­min­is­tra­tion. Wat­son, cur­rently a res­i­dent of Wyn­cote, re­ceived his for­mal train­ing at Pennsylvania State Uni­ver­sity, Tem­ple’s Tyler School of Fine Art and the Uni­ver­sity School of the Arts, formerly the Mu­seum School of Art.

The Va­ri­ety Club is thrilled to be able to show­case a famous artist. At­ten­dees will have the chance to pur­chase his orginal works from 1 to 4 p.m. with part of the pro­ceeds ben­e­fit­ting the chil­dren we serve. Wat­son has even agreed to com­mis­sion a spe­cial “Va­ri­ety” piece of art fea­tur­ing a mo­ment from our camp.

Blue Bell res­i­dent Jack Ron­al­ter re­cently par­tic­i­pated in two world record-set­ting aerial for­ma­tions with an in­ter­na­tional team of sky­divers in Ari­zona.
