A RECIPE FOR SETTING THINGS RIGHT AGAIN

Star-Telegram - - Opinion -

Growing up, I was taught right from wrong, respect for others and the importance of doing the right thing, by my parents, church and schools.

Today, we want everything to be black and white. We create rules, regulations, policies, procedures and laws to eliminate or reduce the ambiguities of life, but the reality is that our world is only shades of gray. Black and white do not really exist; there will always be an exception, no matter how small.

Our government and much of society are broken. We seem to see only red or blue, without variation.

We need to get back to basics, bring back civility, give and earn respect and do the right thing.
