Age 89, of Ed­ina MN, for­merly of Min­neapo­lis, passed away on Oc­to­ber 29, 2017 sur­rounded by fam­ily. Pre­ceded death by par­ents Axel and Vi­ola (Hitch­cock), wife Mar­ion (An­der­son); broth­ers Ken­neth and Ernie; sis­ters Edith and Carol. Sur­vived by sons Steven (Carolyn), Tom (Rickie), David (Roxy), Bob (Judy); and daugh­ter Laura Re­gan (Peter). Also sur­vived by 11 grand­chil­dren and 9 great-grand­chil­dren. Ray was born in Bis­marck, ND and later moved to Grove City where he met his wife Mar­ion. While serv­ing in the Marines, Ray mar­ried Mar­ion in Cal­i­for­nia while on leave. Ray and Mar­ion raised their fam­ily in the Lin­den Hills neigh­bor­hood of Min­neapo­lis be­fore mov­ing to Ed­ina. Ray was vet­eran of the Korean war, a mem­ber of the sheet me­tal work­ers union, and was an ac­tive Ma­son in the Scot­tish Rite. He also en­joyed fish­ing and hunt­ing as well as spend­ing time with fam­ily and friends. Ray was well liked by all who met him and was known for hav­ing a strong char­ac­ter and an easy­go­ing, light­hearted at­ti­tude. Please join us to cel­e­brate Ray’s life Mon­day, Novem­ber 20th, 3 PM at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S, Min­neapo­lis with visi­ta­tion 1 hour prior to the ser­vice. Snacks and re­fresh­ments will fol­low the ser­vice. Memo­ri­als pre­ferred to the Shriners Hos­pi­tals for Chil­dren. in
