The Cost of Keeping Britney Spears $ober:
Corraling the pop star onto the straight and narrow adds up to a small fortune.
CAN you put a price on happiness and health? Yes— half a million dollars! At least that’s the bill Britney Spears receives each year, thanks to the massive team of handlers, coaches and minders tasked with keeping the pop star sober and medicated. Attorney Andrew Wallet — the conservator of 36-year-old Britney’s estate — alleged he's owed $426,000 a year for keeping “literally hundreds of people” from providing “illegal substances to the conservatee,” according to a motion he filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. Britney’s estate was placed under the care of (the appropriately named) Mr. Wallet not long after her 2007 meltdown, when she shaved her head and attacked a photographer’s car with an umbrella. By Jan. 3 of 2008, Brit hit rock bottom when cops found her drugged up and locked in her bathroom with her two kids, Sean and Jayden, now 13 and 12 — refusing to relinquish custody to her ex Kevin Federline. She spent the next several months bouncing in and out of rehab. The attorney alleges that Britney’s issues continued during her Las Vegas residency,, but because of his vigilance he took her net worth from nearly zero to $20 million! Indeed, Star’s source spills that ever since Brit began her Vegas gigs back in 2013, her team was so focused on keeping her sober that they were drug-testing everyone around her: “Anyone who works with Britney, be it her trainer or her hairstylist, has to be tested and open to random pat-downs.” Britney and Wallet are due to settle the bill in court on Nov. 19. Star will keep you posted!
