◆ Al­co­holics Anony­mous — Al­co­holics Anony­mous will now meet ev­ery Satur­day at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church

◆ Casse­role Kitchen — The Epis­co­pal Church of the Res­ur­rec­tion hosts a casse­role kitchen ev­ery Satur­day at Par­ish hall at 11:30 a.m.

◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” ev­ery Satur­day. Free food will be pro­vided and visi­tors can meet the Park­erMcGill staff

◆ Mov­ing For­ward — Youth Ages 8 to 18. Ac­tiv­i­ties to pro­mote a healthy life­style: com­plete 2 ses­sions there will be a cel­e­bra­tion. Meet­ings will be Sept. 9 and 6 at the J L King Cen­ter. Kayla Pratt will be the Fa­cil­i­ta­tor

◆ Starkville Sym­phony Per­for­mance — The Starkville Sym­phony’s first con­cert of the sea­son is sched­uled for Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Lee Hall on the MSU cam­pus. The pro­gram will in­clude pieces by Han­del, Neruda, Wal­ters, and Dvo­rak. The Sym­phony’s con­certs are free and open to the pub­lic

◆ Neigh­bor­hood Yard Sale — Plan­ta­tion Homes will host a neigh­bor­hood wide yard sale on Sept. 16 from 9 am- 2 pm. All houses in Plan­ta­tion Homes are in­vited to par­tic­i­pate by sell­ing their items in their own yard

◆ Ca­noe Day — Ca­noe­ing on Nox­ubee Refuge’s Bluff Lake will be held on Sept. 16 from 9 am un­til 3 pm. Ca­noes, kayaks, life jack­ets, and pad­dles will be avail­able free of charge. Call 3235548 for more in­for­ma­tion

◆ Run United 5K — Run United 5K Kick­off Rae will be­gin 8 a.m. on Sept. 23. at the Starkville Sport­splex. Reg­is­tra­tion is $25 for early reg­is­tra­tion, $30 for late reg­is­tra­tion, and $35 the day of the race. The United Way is look­ing for vol­un­teers to help. Par­ent sig­na­tures & child’s birth cer­tifi­cate must ac­com­pany reg­is­tra­tion. Ten­nis shoes; no cleats. No en­try fee for par­tic­i­pants or spec­ta­tors.
