The Around Town cal­en­dar is a free ser­vice of­fered by the Starkville Daily News. The cal­en­dars runs daily as space al­lows. The guest speaker will be Dr. Bob Fuller, newly named Col­lege of Ed­u­ca­tion co­or­di­na­tor at Mis­sis­sippi State Univer­sity for the new Starkville Ok­tibbeha School Dis­trict Part­ner­ship School at Miss. ◆Healthy Wealthy and Wise Health Fair — Healthy Wealthy and Wise Health Fair pre­sented by Al­pha Kappa Al­pha, Inc. will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 2 at the Starkville Sport­splex fea­ture­ing free screen­ings and give­aways and a free on­site health class with Jen­nifer Gra­ham at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

◆COCO Awards Pro­gram— 4th An­nual awards pro­gram will be June 2 at the COCO Cen­ter at 6 p.m. Donors will be hon­ored, and the Irene and David Rogers me­mo­rial schol­ar­ship re­cip­i­ents will be awarded. Two $500 schol­ar­ships will be given to grad­u­at­ing high school se­niors. Starkville High School JROTC will post the col­ors. The pro­gram is open to the pub­lic.

◆SHS Class of 1968 Re­union — The Starkville High School Class of 1968 will hold their 50th class re­union June 2. A pic­nic style lunch will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the FBC Out­reach Cen­ter. An evening din­ner and pro­gram will be held at the Mill at 6 p.m. with tours of SHS, MSU ath­letic fa­cil­i­ties, Mitchell Me­mo­rial Li­brary and the Ok­tibbeha County Her­itage Mu­seum.

◆ Do­na­tions for Home­less Stu­dents — Starkville Ok­tibbeha School Dis­trict’s Project HELP is seek­ing do­na­tions of hy­giene sup­plies, school sup­plies, school uni­forms (new or used in good con­di­tion), socks and un­der­gar­ments for home­less stu­dents.
