Fans in the Jackson area can celebrate a historic 2017-18 Mississippi State athletic year and look forward to the upcoming 2018-19 campaign as the 41st annual Central Mississippi Summer Extravaganza takes place Tuesday, July 17.
This year's event, presented by the Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter, will be held at the Clyde Muse Center on the Hinds Community College-Rankin Campus (515 Country Place Parkway; Pearl, Miss.). Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets cost $10 per adult and can be purchased online (http://www.msu-alumni.com/product-page/2018-summer-extravaganza-ticket). Admission is free to all students and children, including MSU students.
The program features “Voice of the Bulldogs” Neil Price hosting a panel discussion with first-year head football coach Joe Moorhead, new Diamond Dawg baseball coach Chris Lemonis, men's basketball head coach Ben Howland, women's basketball associate head coach Johnnie Harris, the 2018 WBCA Assistant Coach of the Year, Director of Athletics John Cohen, and MSU Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Regina Hyatt.
Tuesday's event gives fans the first opportunity to pick up the 2018 football schedule cards and posters, and prior to the program, the coaches and members of Moorhead's Bulldog football team will meet fans and sign autographs.
Extravaganza festivities also include photos with a number of championship trophies and Bully, free face painting and a mini cheer camp with the MSU cheerleaders. Food trucks will be available at the Clyde Muse Center beginning at 5 p.m.
