Street Trucks - - WORD ON THE STREET -

IN A WORLD WHERE WE REALLY DO HAVE TO TAKE THINGS SERIOUSLY EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, IT’S GREAT TO KNOW THAT YOU CAN HAVE A DECENT TRUCK THAT WON’T GOUGE YOU AT THE GAS PUMP. The ’17 Ford F-150 XLT Supercrew 4x2 equipped with 2.7L Ecoboost V-6 recently earned a Top Green Vehicle award in the pickup category due to its stellar fuel economy.

The award, presented by the AAA Green Car Guide, praises the F-150 for its 19-mpg city/24-mpg highway fuel ratings, but what’s interesting to note is that the EPA’S figures differ slightly and are even more in Ford’s favor at 19/26/22 combined.

We all know that V-6-equipped full-size trucks have been, in the past, the least desirable option, but with turbo power and great torque figures, the new generation of fuel-efficient offerings from truck manufacturers really have our attention, and have gained a foothold in the truck market. Hey, money saved at the pump means more truck goodies, right?
