Realtor of the Week
Name: Denise Gobin Company name: Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate Originally from: New York / New Jersey
Current home: Parkland
How long in real estate: 14 years
Realtor designations: CNS, SSRS What made you get into real estate? I was a corporate relocator from New York that found myself unemployed 9 months later. I was 28, a single mom with a one-year-old and
decided that it was a perfect opportunity to break away from corporate America. As I have a degree in accounting, I acquired my mortgage license. The lender that I worked for owned a real estate company too, hence I was encouraged to get my real estate license and become a full-service agent. Fourteen years later, my passion lies in the real estate side of the business. What separates you from other Realtors? Delivering the highest level of care and customer service to every transaction. My business is built on being knowledgeable, understanding the real estate industry in its entirety; not limiting my participation to just to my facet of the transaction, but understanding the dynamic of the whole deal and all parties involved. A strong Realtor knows the changing insurance guidelines, familiar with title insurance and its value, and knows how to work a mortgage payment. I take a high level of pride in being a professional Realtor and the source of information. Which neighborhoods/areas are your specialty? Parkland, Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, Boca Raton, Tamarac and East Fort Lauderdale. Describe your working style? I am detail oriented, 24/7 access, and dedicated to the end result. I take the educational approach in working with clients...prepare them for the surprises. What advice do you have for buyers? You’re not shopping for a house, you are looking for a professional Realtor like myself that you can trust to listen to your criteria and guide your buying decisions for the most successful outcome: your dream home. Make sure the brokerage your agent works with affords you the marketing resources needed to sell your home in today’s market where 95 percent of all buyers are shopping online first. What advice do you have for sellers? You get what you pay for. There is a tremendous value that a Realtor brings that far exceeds the commission. How does what you’ve learned about real estate help your clients? Experience cannot be bought or sold; it is truly earned, like trust. My clients always compliment my knowledge and I respond the same way, it all came from bumps and bruises. Hopefully, I withered enough storms and pitfalls so you don’t have to. What’s the hottest listing you have right now? Available $398,000 in Boca Chase What professional accomplishment makes you the most proud? The accreditation I received from my colleagues: Biltmore Who’s Who Among Executives and Professionals, and Coldwell Banker International Diamond Society Agent Are you involved in any charitable organizations? Parkland Woman’s Club; Past Officer: Women In Distress; Affiliation: Junior Achievements of South Florida, CB Cares, Pace University Alumni, George Washington University Alumni What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you? That I have an accounting degree, and a masters in Education and Human Development... far from an audit or a classroom.
