Heidisch earns 2013 Realtor of the Year award
James G. Heidisch,
GRI, a licensed real estate broker for 38 years who is actively involved in professional advocacy and community organizations, was selected REALTOR® of the Year by the Greater Fort Lauderdale REALTORS® (GFLR) at its leadership installation on Jan. 9.

Heidisch, a former GFLR president, secretary and trea- surer, also has served on the board of directors, as well as chaired the association’s audit and finance, government affairs and the investment task force committees. He is a member of the GLFR Honor Society.
At the state level, Heidisch has served as a Florida REALTORS® director since 2006. He presently serves on numerous Florida REALTORS® committees, including insurance subcommittee, public policy committee, executive committee, and the key contacts subcommittee. He is a past district vice president, and served on the Legislative Political Forum, and the local board of treasurers exchange.
On the national level, Heidisch served as a National Association of REALTORS® director, and as a member of the membership policy and board jurisdiction committee from 2010 to 2012.
Prior to joining GFLR in 1991, Heidisch served on numerous committees with the Macomb County Association of REALTORS® in Michigan, where he started his professional real estate career in 1976, and the Boca Raton Association of REALTORS® in Palm Beach County.
Active in his community, Heidisch is director of the Jim and Jan Moran Unit of the Boys and Girls Club, and a past president of the Deerfield Chamber of Commerce. He is a former member of the Rotary Club and is a founding committee member of Dunn’s Run, and annual Boys and Girls Club fundraising event. He was chairman of the Joan of Arc Hunger Program for eight years.
Heidisch has been married to his wife Christine for more than 40 years, and they have two sons and five grandchildren.
