Deck the Walls

Sun Sentinel Broward Edition - Showtime - Broward - - MUSIC ART -

Santa, undoubtedly a Tony Hawk fan, may take comfort in the holiday-themed skateboard decks rolling into Amanda and JR Linton’s tattoo shop and gallery in West Palm Beach. A dozen local artists painted the undersides of 25 decks, including VonZombo, Eduardo Mendieta, Cary Polkovitz, Georgette Pressler and Carlos Fuenmayor. So far, we’ve spotted an odd assortment of deck art worth a holiday gift for the halfpipe fanatic in your life: a grimacing Grinch; a stoic Frankenstein’s monster; a Chinese dragon; an alien wearing a tuxedo; a tattooed woman, an “X-Files” tribute; and a handful devoted to pinup girls striking sensual poses. When: Through Jan. 30; noon-10 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday Where: Ink and Pistons Tattoo and Slushbox Art Gallery, 2716 S. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach Cost: Free Contact: 561-832-4655 or InkAndPistons.com
