Here’s what’s hap­pen­ing in South Florida the­aters this week.

“Shorts Gone Wild 5”

Is­land City Stage, a Wil­ton Manors-based the­ater com­pany that fo­cuses on LGBT themes, is once again team­ing up with Mi­ami’s City The­atre for its pop­u­lar short play fes­ti­val. The per­for­mance fea­tures eight playlets from lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional play­wrights with the show’s or­der de­cided by the au­di­ence.

When: Through Sept. 10. 8 p.m. Thurs­days- Satur­days; 5 p.m. Sun­days.

“Sen­ti­men­tal Jour­ney”

Palm Beach Dra­ma­work’s cabaret series con­tin­ues with Shel­ley Keelor singing hits from the World War II era in­clud­ing “Ev­ery Time We Say Good­bye,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “Don’t Get Around Much Any­more” and “Don’t Sit Un­der the Ap­ple Tree (with Any­one Else But Me).”

When: Today, Satur­day and Sun­day. 8 p.m. Fri­daySatur­day; 7 p.m. Sun­day; 2 p.m. Satur­day-Sun­day.

“Mind Hacker”

Born in Ar­gentina and raised in Is­rael, men­tal­ist Alan Chamo now calls Mi­ami Beach home. So he’ll be stay­ing in his hood for the lim­ited-run show at the Colony The­atre. And the au­di­ence will also stay close with 150 seats set on the stage for the per­for­mance of psy­cho­log­i­cal and per­sua­sive tech­niques (in both English and Span­ish).

When: Through Aug. 27. 8 p.m. Thurs­days-Satur­days (10 p.m. Span­ish show on Satur­days); 2 p.m. Sun­days.

“The Good Thief”

Conor McPher­son’s solo play looks at the rou­tine vi­o­lence of Dublin’s crim­i­nal un­der­world as seen through the eyes of a de­sen­si­tized thug who, af­ter a job goes hor­ri­bly wrong, be­gins to con­sider re­demp­tion.

When: Today, Satur­day and Sun­day at South Mi­ami-Dade Cul­tural Arts Cen­ter 8:30 p.m. Fri­day and Satur­day; 2:30 p.m. Satur­day and Sun­day.
