Rolling Loud 2018

Sun Sentinel Broward Edition - Showtime - Broward - - MUSIC -

After a contentious 2017 event at Bayfront Park, the Rolling Loud music festival comes to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens May 11-13 bearing a massive bill of hip-hop royalty, topped by Travis Scott, Rick Ross, Future, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne, Migos and Post Malone. Last year’s sold-out Rolling Loud seemed to be shrouded in controversy even before it debuted in downtown Miami, notably from the headliner, Pompano Beach’s Kodak Black. Black’s legal problems prevented him from attending Rolling Loud, while reports of dehydrated festivalgoers, rowdy crowds and last-minute schedule changes for Migos, Robb Banks and others also marred the festival. The stadium move lets organizers of the all-ages Rolling Loud, now in its third year, to spread the acts over three stages instead of Bayfront Park’s one. Other high-profile performers on the 100-plus bill include J. Cole, who’s touring behind his Billboard No. 1 album “KOD.” The North Carolina-born rapper on Tuesday also announced a 34-date tour supporting the album, kicking off Aug. 9 at Miami’s AmericanAirlines Arena with opener Young Thug. Tickets cost $45.50-$145.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday via LiveNation.com, Ticketmaster.com and Dreamville.com, with a series of presales starting today. Also on the bill is rapper Tory Lanez, a Pembroke Pines resident.
