Dining alfresco, in style

Sun Sentinel Broward Edition - Showtime - South Broward - - BARS & CLUBS - By Talia J. Medina

Anew outdoor eatery has joined the restaurants at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens.

iDeck is situated above a manicured golf course and pool picturesque enough for a wedding. The terrace seats 150 guests between the high-top tables and the lounge sectionals. At night, oversized lamps illuminate the space while a fire pit keeps guests warm and relaxed.

iDeck serves the same American dishes as PGA’s Ironwood Steak and Seafood restaurant but has the added benefit of bar bites and cocktails from PGA’s iBar.

Entrée items includes diver scallops ($35), Berkshire twin pork chops ($48) and Atlantic salmon ($32).

One of the most unusual menu items is on the cocktail list: the PGA Garden Bloom ($16).

What makes this beverage special, aside from the sweet flavor combination of Absolut pear vodka and Sauvignon Blanc, is the garnish. The edible Buzz Button flower topping makes your mouth tingle like Pop Rocks. If you try the drink before biting the flower and then after, you’ll notice a difference. It’s like cranking up the flavor volume.

iDeck is at the PGA National Resort and Spa, 400 Avenue of the Champions, Palm Beach Gardens. Hours of operation are Sundays through Thursdays from 11 a.m.-1 a.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Food is served until 11:30 p.m. For more, visit PGAResort.com or call 800-863-2819
