Re­tail ther­apy: Can­cer group hosts ‘Shop­ping Bou­tique and Lun­cheon’

The quest to raise funds and aware­ness in the bat­tle to end breast can­cer con­tin­ues with the third an­nual NotMy Daugh­ter…FindACure Now! “Shop­ping Bou­tique and Lun­cheon,” which takes place on Oct. 8 at the Mar­riott Heron Bay lo­cated in Co­ral Springs. Doors open at10 a.m. and the lun­cheon be­gins at noon.

The day has some­thing for ev­ery­one in­clud­ing: an auc­tion, raf­fles, en­ter­tain­ment byDJ Chris Cruz, photo op­por­tu­ni­ties and goodie bags. Aspecial per­for­mance will be given by ris­ing pop/coun­try mu­sic artists Jenny andAsh­ley Cooke. Tick­ets are $60. Event pro­ceeds will be do­nated to the Miami/Fort Laud­erdale af­fil­i­ate of Su­san G. Ko­man for the Cure.

NotMy Daugh­ter…FindA CureNow! is a vol­un­teer-based or­ga­ni­za­tion led by breast can­cer sur­vivor Denyse Hostig. The goal of the group is to do­nate funds to sup­port med­i­cal re­search to erad­i­cate the dis­ease be­fore it reaches fu­ture gen­er­a­tions. Af­ter fight­ing her own bat­tle against breast can­cer, Hostig fo­cused her at­ten­tion to make a safer fu­ture for her chil­dren.

“Each year we strive to bring our sup­port­ers an even more won­der­ful ex­pe­ri­ence at our event. We are all so thank­ful to our­won­der­ful spon­sors, friends and community who sup­port NotMy Daugh­ter…FindACure Now! and hope that this year their sup­port will get us all closer to reach­ing our goal to end breast can­cer,” said Hostig.
