Paws for the cause: Fashion show raises funds for Humane Society
PAWS, an auxiliary of the Humane Society of Broward County, will host its seventh annual “Angel PAWS Luncheon and Fashion Show” on Jan. 23 at the Coral Ridge Country Club. Guests will enjoy a lunch and have the opportunity to view some of the season’s latest fashions in women’s wear courtesy of Bloomingdale’s Boca Raton.
Event Chair is Susan Smith; Jacey Birch will serve as honorary master of ceremonies. The Humane Society of Broward County will be on site offering mobile adoptions and items from their Pet Boutique. During the cocktail hour, guests will be able to visit with the adoptable pets and perhaps find their next four-legged family member. A few of the dogs from the shelter will also make a special appearance in the fashion show.
In addition to the fashion show, there will be a silent auction with a selection of vintage items including designer handbags and shoes, jewelry and accessories. A prize drawing will also take place, and guests will have the chance to win a GCI Contemporary Ladies 14K white gold watch which includes genuine sapphire crystal and mother-of-pearl dial valued at $3,900 and donated by Gem Couture Inc., designs by Melody. The second place prize is a Tory Burch printed faille and resin frame bag valued at $465 and donated by Bloomingdale’s Boca Raton. Prize drawing tickets are 1 for $50, 2 for $80 or 3 for $100.
