Gone fishin’: Guy Harvey banquet supports research, education for healthy oceans
The sixth annual Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation fundraiser will take place from 6 to 10 p.m., Nov. 2, at the International Game Fish Association Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum, 30 Gulf Stream Way, Dania Beach. The banquet will raise funds necessary to carry out scientific research and educational programs for sustainable marine environments.
Dr. Harvey, who is recognized for his work as a marine wildlife artist, scientist and conservationist, will host the event. The fundraiser features live music, dinner, drinks, silent and live auctions, original Guy Harvey artwork, and opportunities to win fishing trips and relaxing vacations to resort destinations.
There will be a screening of a year-in-review film covering Dr. Harvey’s career and the foundation’s accomplishments. Attendees will also learn about plans for 2014. Individual tickets are $300; tables of 10 are $2,500.
