The NFL Alumni Association and the Exchange Club of Pompano Beach recently held their eighth annual “Caring for Kids Bowling Tournament” at Sawgrass Lanes in Tamarac.

On hand were former NFL players who signed autographs and Exchange Club members who grilled lunch. Other attendees were staff and residents of the Broward Children’s Center and the Children’s Healing Institute, and volunteers from NFL Alumni Association of South Florida.

Activities included a silent auction, a raffle for a wine wagon, and a 50/50 drawing.

Trophies were presented to the best male and female bowlers, the best team, the most enthusiastic team, best costumes and lowest score.

The event raised more than $20,000 for local children’s charities. It also got many of the medically fragile children out to have a fun afternoon of bowling, games and interaction with former NFL players.
