United Way of Broward County’s Envision United affinity group helped raise funds to get books for the children at Morrow Elementary School in North Lauderdale.

The group adopted the children through the United Way’s Club Connect Adopt-A-School program. The goal of Club Connect is to ensure all students are reading at grade level by the end of third grade.

Students will now enjoy a “reading oasis” inside their school library thatprovides a quiet and comfortable place to read the more than 400 books provided by Scholastic.

In addition to the reading oasis and donated books, every parent will receive frequent email messaging about the importance of reading as well as coupons or other incentives for participating in the Club Connect program.

Gabriella Vicuna reads one of the hundreds of books donated to Morrow Elementary School through Club Connect.
