Ron­ald McDon­ald House Char­i­ties of South Florida re­cently pre­sented Place of Hope with a do­na­tion of $22,300. The funds will be used for home ex­penses re­lated to the man­age­ment and up­keep of Place of Hope’s Fam­ily Cot­tages, which make up the gated com­mu­nity where its foster fam­i­lies re­side.

Place of Hope was named one of “11 Top-Rated Char­i­ties that Changed the World in 2014” by Char­ity Nav­i­ga­tor and The Huff­in­g­ton Post. It is a faith-based, state-li­censed chil­dren’s or­ga­ni­za­tion that pro­vides fam­ily-style foster care (emer­gency and long-term), fam­ily out­reach and in­ter­ven­tion, ma­ter­nity care, safety for do­mes­tic mi­nor sex­u­ally traf­ficked vic­tims, tran­si­tional hous­ing and sup­port ser­vices, foster care re­cruit­ment and sup­port for chil­dren and fam­i­lies who have been trau­ma­tized by abuse and ne­glect.
