Man accused of soliciting minor for sex
A Hollywood man was arrested after police say he traveled to have sex with a person he believed was a teenage boy.
Walter Rivera, 29, used a cellphone app Thursday to chat with a detective posing as a 15-year-old boy named James, according to a Pembroke Pines police report. They exchanged photographs and then began texting by cellphone.
Rivera, an officer with U.S. Customs & Border Protection in Miami, was charged with online solicitation of a minor and traveling to meet a minor, police said. He does not have a criminal record, according to court testimony.
