Man ac­cused of so­lic­it­ing mi­nor for sex

A Hol­ly­wood man was ar­rested af­ter po­lice say he trav­eled to have sex with a per­son he be­lieved was a teenage boy.

Wal­ter Rivera, 29, used a cell­phone app Thurs­day to chat with a de­tec­tive pos­ing as a 15-year-old boy named James, ac­cord­ing to a Pem­broke Pines po­lice re­port. They ex­changed pho­to­graphs and then be­gan tex­ting by cell­phone.

Rivera, an of­fi­cer with U.S. Cus­toms & Bor­der Pro­tec­tion in Miami, was charged with on­line so­lic­i­ta­tion of a mi­nor and trav­el­ing to meet a mi­nor, po­lice said. He does not have a crim­i­nal record, ac­cord­ing to court tes­ti­mony.
