Battle of the patties
The Riverwalk Burger Battle VI will rumble 7-10 p.m. Friday at Huizenga Park (1 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). Beefy contender American Social, 2014’s Burger Battle champ, will defend its title against 15 other patty-peddling joints from Broward County. This year’s surprise absence is Rosie’s Bar and Grill, the usual People’ Choice winner, but the ground-beef landscape is well repre- sented here with bites by Beauty and the Feast, Timpano American Chophouse, M.E.A.T. Eatery and Taproom, Tucker Duke’s Lunchbox, Georgie’s Alibi and Big Bear Brewing Company. $40 general admission ($125 VIP) includes 16 burger bites, Downtowner Saloon’s french-fry bar, three drink tickets and performances by That Band. 954-468-1541 or GoRiver walk.com.
