SunPass mail reminders a waste of resources
Perhaps the Florida Department of Transportation should look into ways to not waste money instead of raising tolls. When my SunPass account balance dropped to below $10, I started to receive postcards reminding me to add funds. So far, I have received more than 18 of these, sometimes 2 or 3 in one day.
The bulk rate for a postcard is 26 cents. This amounts to $4.68. So the Department of Transportation spend $3.72 more than they would have if they simply started to add 26 cents to my account until the balance reached $10.
I can only imagine the amount of money the DOT is wasting on these reminder postcards sending them to hundreds of SunPass customers.
