Through­out much of Thurs­day morn­ing and into the af­ter­noon, lawen­force­ment of­fi­cers, joined by Spe­cial Olympics ath­letes, ran along a 29-mile course fromBroward’s south­ern bor­der to the north­ern county line. Broward County’s LawEn­force­ment Torch Run, which raises money for and aware­ness of the Spe­cial Olympics, was part of a 1,400-mile statewide re­lay lead­ing up to the open­ing cer­e­monies of the Florida Spe­cial Olympics Sum­mer Games in Lake Bue­naVista onMay 19.
