Arch­bishop McCarthy lost grip of its un­beaten streak against in-state op­po­nents, but keeps hold of Florida’s over­all No. 1 rank­ing.

The Mav­er­icks fell at home, 5-0, on Wed­nes­day, held hit­less for five straight in­nings by Trin­ity Chris­tian se­nior left han der David Yourke.

McCarthy fin­ished with just two hits and three er­rors. Yor­dani Car­mona took the loss, the sopho­more lefty’s first of the sea­son.
