More awareness could help save our oceans

Sun Sentinel Broward Edition - - VOICES & OPINION - ShirleyMcCollum, Lauderdale by-the-Sea

I was very surprised to learn how damaging excess fresh water is to the ocean in general and the reefs in particular. Since your excellent article, I have become very conscious of every bit ofwater I am using and I believe I am using at least five gallons less per day (on average). This is no sacrifice; just awareness. If everyone cut their personal water usage by a similar amount, it would greatly decrease fresh water dumped (or pumped) into the ocean and protect our ocean for the future.

Thanks for keeping us aware.
