Sun Sentinel Broward Edition - - OBITUARIES - — Staff report

The gunman who stormed into a Dania Beach convenience store was fast, impatient and violent.

Surveillance video released by the Broward Sheriff’s Office on Friday shows the chilling incident as it unfolded shortly before11:30 p.m. onApril 8 at the Stop N Go store at 2501 Stirling Road.

Clad in dark clothing and covering his face with a ski mask, the robber runs through the front door, leaps in front of a startled customer and points a handgun at the clerk behind the counter.

When the clerk apparently didn’t move fast enough, the thief is seen jumping through the counter’s open partition and sticking the gun against theworker’s head. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the robber grabbed money from a cash box and smacked the clerk’s head with the gun while demanding he open the cash register.

After that, the gunman drags the employee through an open door inside the store and leaves him there before running outside as fast as he ran in.
