Three-time track and field state champion Damion Thomas committed to LSU on Friday at Northeast High School. Thomas, one of the top hurdlers in the nation, has earned three consecutive state titles in the 110-meter hurdles, while also sweeping district and regional titles in the event for the past four years. The senior currently holds the secondbest high school time in the country after posting a13.43 at the Texas Relays in March.
Other signees from Northeast include Cabria Lee (FIU, basketball), Ta’KylaAustin (NorthFlorida, basketball), Isabella Lopez (Auburn, basketball), Kandis Taylor (Bryant, basketball), Bryce Sanchious (Western Nebraska, basketball), Peter Chery (Western Nebraska, basketball), and Marsel Smith (Pearl River College, basketball).
Plantation High will host a ceremony onMay 23, 2017, when four Colonels athletes will sign college letters: Damian Lewis (University of North Florida, track and field), Cheyanne Michael (Mary Baldwin University, basketball), Sherman Parker (Finger Lakes CC, SunSentinel.com/ highschool basketball), and Nabia Attah (Valdosta State, track and field).
