State funding supports stormproofing inBMSD
The Florida Division of EmergencyManagement has awarded $194,000 to the Broward Housing Finance and Community Redevelopment Division for the purpose of strengthening homes in the BrowardMunicipal Services District against hurricanes and storms. Residents on the waitlist of incomeeligible homeowners are prioritized for assistance, whichmay include repairs to stormproof windows, doors and roofs. The funds come as a no-interest five-year mortage, which requires the owner to occupy the property for five years and does not need to be repaid if requirements are met. Visit broward.org/housing.
