Man fatally shot during fight at bar

A Fort Lauderdale man is dead after an argument between two people in a Hollywood bar became violent and ended in gunfire, a city official said.

Hollywood police were called to the Emerald Bar at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, where they found Andrew Potesta Jr., 29, deceased, police spokeswoman Miranda Grossman said Wednesday.

Officers are questioning witnesses who were at the bar, at 5650 Stirling Road, in an effort to identify possible suspects, Grossman said.

Police ask anyone with information to call Broward County Crime Stoppers, at 954-493-8477. The organization accepts anonymous tips and will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
