On the other hand …

-

The Swine flu pandemic occurred from April 2009 through April 2010. It resulted in the death of nearly 1,500 children ages 18 and younger. Schools did not close down.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has taken the life of less than 40 children of the same age group. Yet, there is an outcry to not open schools in the fall. Why not?

It seems to me that not opening the schools has less to do with the health and well being of the students, but more to do with politics. Let’s not use our children as political pawns. They deserve better.
