En­try to Vicky’s is gained by walk­ing through a Bri­tish-style tele­phone booth in­side LoKal, t he next- door burger restau­rant (al­though there’s also a sep­a­rate, but less fun, front en­trance).

If ve­gan dough­nuts sound like an oxy­moron, Bun­nie Cakes owner Mar­i­ana Cortez would beg to dif­fer. At her pink-striped and heart-cov­ered ve­gan bak­ery i n Wyn­wood, Most of Cortez’s seven va­ri­eties of milk­shakes ( red vel­vet, green-tea matcha and sun­flower but­ter are pop­u­lar fla­vors) are gluten-free. The most deca­dent is a straw­berry shake dusted with mul­ti­col­ored sprin­kles and topped with a mini cake dough­nut.

An in­ven­tion from Mignonette Up­town’s pas­try chef, Devin Brad­dock, this The Ba­nana Miso-Caramel milk­shake at Mignonette Up­town in North Mi­ami Beach. ba­nana- based shake i s topped with bruleed ba­nana slices, a minia­ture ba­nana-nut muf­fin and miso caramel, a salty sauce that coun­ter­bal­ances the drink’s heavy sweet­ness. “It’s a great way to do some­thing cre­ative for diners, by making it more out­ra­geous,” says restau­ra­teur Danny Ser­fer, whose Mignonette Up­town lo­ca­tion serves the shake.
