Be CAPPY: Com­pre­hen­sive AIDS Pro­gram award nom­i­na­tions

The CAPPY Awards, an an­nual sig­na­ture event of the Com­pre­hen­sive AIDS Pro­gram of Palm Beach County, Inc. (CAP), rec­og­nizes in­di­vid­u­als who have made a sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tion to fight the HIV/AIDS epi­demic in lo­cal, state, na­tional and/or global com­mu­ni­ties.

Award cat­e­gories are: CAPPY Award, per­son of the year, an in­di­vid­ual who has ded­i­cated sig­nif­i­cant time in a lead­er­ship role to HIV/AIDS care, re­search, or aware­ness; Med­i­cal Achieve­ment Award, in­di­vid­ual or com­pany that has led the way in the area of HIV/AIDS treat­ment; Fundraiser Ex­traor­di­naire, in­di­vid­ual or com­pany who has shown fi­nan­cial sup­port for the HIV/AIDS ef­fort; Vol­un­teer Ex­traor­di­naire, in­di­vid­ual who have given of them­selves in an out­stand­ing man­ner as a vol­un­teer to fight HIV/AIDS or as­sist those liv­ing with HIV.

The third an­nual CAPPY Awards will be pre­sented at the an­nual event “Le Diner Rouge” Oc­to­ber 30 at The Colony Ho­tel, Palm Beach. Pro­ceeds from the event will ben­e­fit the Com­pre­hen­sive AIDS Pro­gram of Palm Beach County, Inc.

As the largest provider of HIV/AIDS ser­vices in Palm Beach County, CAP pro­vides and pro­motes ed­u­ca­tion, ad­vo­cacy, and com­pas­sion to in­di­vid­u­als and fam­i­lies in­fected and af­fected by HIV and AIDS through case man­age­ment, pre­ven­tion, and other sup­port ser­vices.
