Walk this way—to raise money for Lu­pus

The Lu­pus Foun­da­tion of Amer­ica, South­east Florida Chap­ter, Inc. in­vites every­one to walk in the third an­nual WALK for Lu­pus Now on Oc­to­ber 4 at An­chor Park, Del­ray Beach. Regis­tra­tion be­gins at 8 a.m.; the walk be­gins promptly at 9 a.m.

Lu­pus is a de­bil­i­tat­ing dis­ease that strikes at the core of ev­ery com­mu­nity, af­flict­ing not just women, but chil­dren and men of all ages. Nearly two mil­lion peo­ple have been di­ag­nosed with lu­pus – more than 20,000 in Broward and Palm Beach coun­ties alone.

The walk com­mit­tee is com­prised of lu­pus pa­tients and ad­vo­cates. The com­mit­tee in­cludes John Ap­gar, Bar­bara and Chris Acevedo, Clau­dia Kirk Barto, Hal Ben­son, Reeve Bright, Kathy Da­ley, Chris Davies, Jas­mine Eti­enne, Linda Gazie, Stacey In­ter­landi, Brad Koogler, Kath­leen Laca, Fredda Stei­dle and Sta­cie Weis­man.

There is no regis­tra­tion fee, how­ever, it is the Chap­ter’s hope that each walker set a min­i­mum goal of $100. An­chor Park is lo­cated on Ocean Boule­vard in Del­ray Beach.
