Walk this way—to raise money for Lupus
The Lupus Foundation of America, Southeast Florida Chapter, Inc. invites everyone to walk in the third annual WALK for Lupus Now on October 4 at Anchor Park, Delray Beach. Registration begins at 8 a.m.; the walk begins promptly at 9 a.m.
Lupus is a debilitating disease that strikes at the core of every community, afflicting not just women, but children and men of all ages. Nearly two million people have been diagnosed with lupus – more than 20,000 in Broward and Palm Beach counties alone.
The walk committee is comprised of lupus patients and advocates. The committee includes John Apgar, Barbara and Chris Acevedo, Claudia Kirk Barto, Hal Benson, Reeve Bright, Kathy Daley, Chris Davies, Jasmine Etienne, Linda Gazie, Stacey Interlandi, Brad Koogler, Kathleen Laca, Fredda Steidle and Stacie Weisman.
There is no registration fee, however, it is the Chapter’s hope that each walker set a minimum goal of $100. Anchor Park is located on Ocean Boulevard in Delray Beach.
