Young Friends get a ‘Sneak Peek’ at the season
More than 450 Young Friends of cultural organizations across Palm Beach County joined in the merriment of the Fifth annual Young Friends Sneak Peek Season Soiree recently held at the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach.
The Soiree is organized by the Palm Beach County Cultural Council and event co-chairs Fred and Deirdre Shapiro.
“In a collaborative effort, the Soiree was founded on the mission of attracting and cultivating the next generation of leaders for our culturally diverse artistic community,” said Soiree founder Deirdre Shapiro. “We’re supporting a positive cultural climate that will hopefully encourage future philanthropists such as Cultural Council founders Alex Dreyfoos and the recently deceased Robert Montgomery who have made such a wonderful impact on our community.”
The largest, most enthusiastic crowd in the Soiree’s history came out for the fifth anniversary fete. Much of the excitement was built around the Soiree’s new home at the posh resort. Even more excitement was generated by these 19 dynamic cultural groups participating in the celebration:
Artists Showcase of the Palm Beaches Miami City Ballet Armory Art Center Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens Arthur R. Marshall Foundation Norton Museum of Art Ballet Florida Old School Square Boca Raton Museum of Art Palm Beach Dramaworks Caldwell Theatre Palm Beach International Film Festival Florida Stage Palm Beach Opera Historical Society of Palm Beach County Palm Beach Zoo Kravis Center for the Performing Arts South Florida Science Museum Loggerhead Marinelife Center Each organization put its signature decorating touch on lively tables featuring season programming and volunteer information. The groups also donated exciting raffle prizes such as performance ticket or museum entrances.
Adding to the festivities was the Four Seasons offering on-site mini massages and the chance to win a fabulous spa package. Between visiting various organizations, checking the raffle winners’ board and chatting about the upcoming cultural season, party goers enjoyed scrumptious passed appetizers and a variety of cocktails.
Anyone interested in becoming a young friend was invited to the Soiree as was every member of the attending cultural organizations’ young friend groups.
“There is always a lot of enthusiasm surrounding the Soiree,” said Rena Blades, Cultural Council president and CEO. “Seeing such anticipation and interest in the cultural season is truly inspirational.”
The Soiree was generously sponsored by UBS Financial Services, Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach and Palm Beach Motor Cars.
