Museum event fuses cultures in the name of flavor and fare
Travel around the world without even leaving Boca Raton. The Boca Raton Children’s Museum, in collaboration with Wines for Humanity, is hosting “F.A.C.E.S. and Places: A Toasting & Tasting Experience.”
The event will feature an exhibit, wine, food, music and entertainment from the United States, Brazil, Africa, Japan, Spain and France. It will place Aug. 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. at SunTrust Bank, 800 S. Federal Highway, Boca Raton.
All guests will receive a passport that will guide them through each exhibit to learn about and taste wines paired with tapas. The wine tasting will be provided byWines for Humanity, a charitable organization that raises funds for homelessness through group wine tasting events. Event guests will taste and learn about the various wines from different countries.
The evening will also include a Chinese auction and entertainment. Among the performers are Trina Soumare, specializing in WestAfrican Dance, and Moussa “Soumah” Soumare, aWestAfrican drummer.
“F.A.C.E.S. and Places: A Toasting & Tasting Experience” is a part of Boca Festival Days, a month-long celebration hosted by Boca Raton Chamber. Sponsors include SunTrust Bank and Stanley Steemer.
F.A.C.E.S. is the Boca Raton Children’s Museum’s multi-cultural arts education program that celebrates the rich diversity of South Florida.
