Palm Beach County’s beloved sea tur­tles re­ceived an un­prece­dented amount of ex­po­sure this nest­ing sea­son thanks to a se­ries of events known as“Art Ar­rib­ada,” the march of the sea tur­tles.

Log­ger­head Marinelife Cen­ter co­or­di­nated teams of tal­ented high school stu­dents from seven area schools who trans­formed the sea tur­tle sculp­tures into ex­quis­ite works of art. Once com­pleted, the sculp­tures were dis­played at lo­cal PNC Bank branches be­fore mi­grat­ing to The Gar­dens Mall Grand Court where the pub­lic voted on their fa­vorites. The win­ner­swere, in de­scend­ing or­der, South Tech Acad­emy, Semi­nole Ridge Com­mu­nity High School and Palm Beach Gar­dens Com­mu­nity High School.

The one-of-a-kind, cus­tom-de­signed sculp­tures were auc­tioned off to ben­e­fit the cen­ter, rais­ing more than $25,000.
