Enjoy an evening of cocktails, silent auctions and dancing while supporting Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County.

The organization is hosting its second annual “Black & White Masquerade Gala” at the Marriott Hotel Boca Center. The event will take place Oct. 5 from 6:30 to 11p.m. All proceeds will benefit the organization’s mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Honorary chairwoman Ethel Williams, the external affairs regional manager of Florida Power & Light Co., will oversee the exquisite evening. The evening will also have two honorees for their outstanding dedication and commitment to the mission of building affordable homes and improving neighborhoods: LynnUniversity and Eric Lebersfeld of Capitol Lighting.

Lebersfeld, president of the family-owned 89-year-old lighting company, has been supporting Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County for many years. The company has been a vital supporter by sponsoring numerous fundraising activities and donating items to the ReStores. LynnUniversity has continually provided outstanding support through hundreds of hours contributed by various student groups over the years.

For more than 20 years, Habitat for Humanity has been providing homeownership opportunities for hardworking and deserving families in Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton. Additionally, the organization works to build community pride by assisting individuals whose homes are in need of painting, landscaping and repairs. The neighborhood revitalization efforts have grown substantially over the past several years as the economy has adversely affected so many individuals.

“Our gala was a great event last year and was very successful in contributing to our fundraising efforts,” said Mike Campbell, executive director. “We know it will be more successful this year and invite local businesses to support our programs through gala sponsorships, in-kind donations and program display advertising.”

Individual tickets for the gala are available for $175 each or $1,500 to sponsor a table of 10. Events by Vento Designs is coordinating the event. Attire for the evening is black and white cocktail.
