Star-stud­ded event Lun­cheon raises funds for breast can­cer re­search while of­fer­ing a chance at travel

Alimited num­ber of tick­ets re­main to see Rob Lowe, Hol­ly­wood star and can­cer aware­ness ad­vo­cate, as keynote speaker at the “Go Pink Lun­cheon.”

The Oct. 25 event will ben­e­fit the Boca Ra­ton Re­gional Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tion. The an­nual event raises funds and aware­ness for the fight against breast can­cer at the hos­pi­tal’s Chris­tine E. Lyn­nWomen’s Health & Well­ness In­sti­tute.

The lun­cheon is the sig­na­ture event for Boca Ra­ton Hos­pi­tal foun­da­tion. It runs from11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Boca Ra­ton Re­sort & Club. Tick­ets are $150 and spon­sor­ships are avail­able.

In honor of the event’s 10th an­niver­sary, Saks Fifth Av­enue Boca Ra­ton has do­nated a once-in-a-life­time Mi­lan Fash­ion Week ex­pe­ri­ence with Etro, one of its pre­mier Euro­pean de­signer brands. It in­cludes two tick­ets to the fash­ion show in Mi­lan in Fe­bru­ary 2014, four nights deluxe ho­tel ac­comme­da­tions, an ex­clu­sive back­stage meet and greet with Veron­ica Etro, a pri­vate show of the head­quar­ters and a shop­ping spree val­ued at $5,000.

Other high­lights of the “Go Pink Lun­cheon” in­clude the Mercedes-Benz of Del­ray “Pink Daisy Pick” with hun­dreds of fab­u­lous prizes and the “Walk of Fame” with per­son­al­ized stars avail­able for pur­chase and promi­nently dis­played at the event.

Lowe, who cur­rently stars in “Parks and Recre­ation” and pre­vi­ously ap­peared in “Brothers & Sis­ters” and “TheWestWing,” is a noted ad­vo­cate for breast can­cer aware­ness and early de­tec­tion. His mother died of breast can­cer in 2003, and his grand­mother and great-grand­mother also died from the disease.

Lowe will share his per­sonal story and dis­cuss how ev­ery­one can make a dif­fer­ence in the bat­tle against breast can­cer. The keynote speaker is spon­sored by the Ed­ward and Freyda Burns En­hanced Liv­ing Ini­tia­tive.

Boca Ra­ton Re­gional Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tion’s Go Pink Chal­lenge is an ini­tia­tive to raise funds for breast can­cer pro­grams at the Chris­tine E. Lyn­nWomen’s Health & Well­ness In­sti­tute. The In­sti­tute is a lead­ing provider of breast can­cer care in the re­gion, per­form­ing more than 97,000 pro­ce­dures an­nu­ally.
