Star-studded event Luncheon raises funds for breast cancer research while offering a chance at travel
Alimited number of tickets remain to see Rob Lowe, Hollywood star and cancer awareness advocate, as keynote speaker at the “Go Pink Luncheon.”
The Oct. 25 event will benefit the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation. The annual event raises funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer at the hospital’s Christine E. LynnWomen’s Health & Wellness Institute.
The luncheon is the signature event for Boca Raton Hospital foundation. It runs from11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Boca Raton Resort & Club. Tickets are $150 and sponsorships are available.
In honor of the event’s 10th anniversary, Saks Fifth Avenue Boca Raton has donated a once-in-a-lifetime Milan Fashion Week experience with Etro, one of its premier European designer brands. It includes two tickets to the fashion show in Milan in February 2014, four nights deluxe hotel accommedations, an exclusive backstage meet and greet with Veronica Etro, a private show of the headquarters and a shopping spree valued at $5,000.
Other highlights of the “Go Pink Luncheon” include the Mercedes-Benz of Delray “Pink Daisy Pick” with hundreds of fabulous prizes and the “Walk of Fame” with personalized stars available for purchase and prominently displayed at the event.
Lowe, who currently stars in “Parks and Recreation” and previously appeared in “Brothers & Sisters” and “TheWestWing,” is a noted advocate for breast cancer awareness and early detection. His mother died of breast cancer in 2003, and his grandmother and great-grandmother also died from the disease.
Lowe will share his personal story and discuss how everyone can make a difference in the battle against breast cancer. The keynote speaker is sponsored by the Edward and Freyda Burns Enhanced Living Initiative.
Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation’s Go Pink Challenge is an initiative to raise funds for breast cancer programs at the Christine E. LynnWomen’s Health & Wellness Institute. The Institute is a leading provider of breast cancer care in the region, performing more than 97,000 procedures annually.
