‘Red Cross Beach Bash’ honors Lilly Pulitzer at ‘Lilly or Louder’
More than 600 guests are expected for the American Red Cross’ “Lilly or Louder: Beach Bash” at The Beach Club on Dec. 28. All proceeds from the event will go to the American Red Cross, an organization that helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
Across the Palm Beaches-Treasure Coast region and averaging every 28 hours, a neighbor calls upon local Red Cross volunteers for emotional support, food, clothing and shelter after a fire, flood, hurricane or other disaster.
This year, the event will celebrate the life of fashion icon Lilly Pulitzer with festivities by the beach. On the Saturday between Christmas and New Year’s Day in the last six seasons, the ocean side of the island of Palm Beach was turned pink and green in preparation for the party.
This year’s A Story Written in the Sun theme is presented by the Lilly Pulitzer fashion house; Pulitzer’s grandson Bobby Leidy is set to return as chair of the bash.
“My family has supported the American Red Cross for decades, so helping to raise awareness for the organization was a natural decision. This year’s event is especially meaningful for me, as we honor my late grandmother and her ‘Story Written in the Sun.’ Additionally, I am grateful for the continued support of the Lilly Pulitzer Corporation. Their partnership throughout the years has been integral to the success of this great event,” said Leidy.
Leidy, a vice president with Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management in Palm Beach, has served as chair of the “Red Cross Beach Bash” for the past six years. In addition to being an active supporter of the Red Cross, he is a member of the Four Arts Contemporaries and the Preservation Foundation. He is also a committee member of the Young Friends of Cleveland Clinic Florida and the Gulf Stream Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Tickets to the event are $200. For more information, contact Alison Freeman at 561-650-9133 or Alison.Freeman@redcross.org.
