Hand­bags and hu­mor - a lun­cheon for The Cen­ter for Fam­ily Ser­vices

The Cen­ter for Fam­ily Ser­vices’ 16th an­nual “Old Bags Lun­cheon” will take place 10:30 a.m. Feb. 27 at The Break­ers. Linda Adel­son, Lor­rain Hall and Soula Rifkin will serve as co-chair­women. Hon­orary co-chair­per­sons are Joan Klann and Kitty Sil­ver­stein and ad­vi­sory chair­woman is Judi Richards.

This event will fea­ture a silent auc­tion of more than 300 de­signer hand­bags and jew­elry, a raf­fle and a lun­cheon with co­me­dian Dar­rell Ham­mond.

For years, Ham­mond has brought to life a va­ri­ety of politi­cians, me­dia fig­ures, celebri­ties and newsmakers on tele­vi­sion. His im­pres­sions in­clude Bill Clin­ton, Regis Philbin, Dan Rather, John Tra­volta, Jesse Jack­son, Richard Drey­fus, Jay Leno, Don­ald Trump and Sean Con­nery in the pop­u­lar “Celebrity Jeop­ardy” skits.

He holds the ti­tle for be­ing the long­est run­ning cast mem­ber on “Satur­day Night Live,” for the most im­pres­sions by a sin­gle SNL cast mem­ber and for the most times say­ing the show’s catch phrase, “Live FromNew York, It’s Satur­day Night!” In ad­di­tion to his SNL ap­pear­ances, Ham­mond has been seen in a num­ber of fea­ture films, tele­vi­sion shows and on Broad­way.

Ham­mond will en­ter­tain the crowd at the “Old Bags Lun­cheon” with his im­per­son­ations and share his per­sonal story with the au­di­ence.

Pro­ceeds from lun­cheon will ben­e­fit The Cen­ter for Fam­ily Ser­vices’ pro­grams, pro­vid­ing help to chil­dren who suf­fer from do­mes­tic vi­o­lence, sex­ual abuse or home­less­ness. Tick­ets are $350 per per­son.
