GEMS ROCK: NIGHTS AT THE MU­SEUM South Florida Sci­ence Cen­ter and Aquar­ium

Part of the “Nights at the Mu­seum” se­ries, this event will of­fer am­ber soap mak­ing, crys­tal and jew­elry mak­ing demos, salt and rock paint­ing crafts, face paint­ing and snow cones and a spe­cial per­for­mance by School of Rock. There will also be the “How Mother Na­ture Makes Rocks” pre­sen­ta­tion by Mr. Why at 6:15, 7:15 and 8:15 p.m. In ad­di­tion, the Gem So­ci­ety will be on-site for the spe­cial un­veil­ing of a new gem pan­ning sta­tion. Lo­cated on the out­door sci­ence trail, guests can pur­chase a bag of gems from the Sci­ence Cen­ter gift shop and pan for spe­cial trea­sures. Non­mem­bers: $13.50 for adults; $10 for chil­dren over 3. Mem­bers: $6.50 for adults; free for chil­dren.
