Sweet seren­ity: ‘Jour­ney for Faith’ yoga event

The Sonoma House will host the “Jour­ney for Faith” yoga event March 28 to raise money for the Epilepsy Foun­da­tion of Florida. The non­profit or­ga­ni­za­tion is com­mit­ted to find­ing a cure and over­com­ing the chal­lenges cre­ated by epilepsy.

The Sonoma House in Boca Ra­ton, the new­est mem­ber of the Max group, is team­ing up with yoga stu­dio Yoga Jour­ney for the event.

Faith Ka­plan, a Yoga Jour­ney stu­dent, was di­ag­nosed with epilepsy three years ago. She teamed up with Cit­i­zens United for Re­search in Epilepsy (CURE) and Fly­wheel Sports Boca for the “Fly For Faith” epilepsy char­ity ride Feb. 25. CURE is a non­profit or­ga­ni­za­tion ded­i­cated to find­ing a cure for epilepsy by rais­ing funds for re­search and rais­ing aware­ness of the dis­ease.

At 6 p.m., Yoga Jour­ney’s owner Les­lie Glick­man and Lori Klinger, will be guid­ing the yoga prac­tice at The Sonoma House.

Epilepsy af­fects more than three mil­lion Amer­i­cans of all ages and­more than 500 cases of epilepsy are di­ag­nosed daily.

Guests will en­joy light bites, snacks, juices, nu­tri­tion con­sul­ta­tions, raf­fles and more. The cost is $25 to re­serve mat space.
