FAU’s ‘Mak­ing Waves Gala’ sup­ports vet­er­ans and first-gen­er­a­tion stu­dents

Florida At­lantic Univer­sity (FAU) will host the “Mak­ing­Waves Gala” March 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Martin F. and Jane Green­berg Foun­da­tion Tower of the FAU Sta­dium on the Boca Ra­ton cam­pus. Pro­ceeds will help pro­vide scholarships and sup­port for vet­er­ans and first-gen­er­a­tion stu­dents.

“The ‘Mak­ing­Waves Gala’ is an op­por­tu­nity for our friends in the lo­cal com­mu­nity to join us for an evening of fun, food and en­ter­tain­ment, while rais­ing funds to sup­port our mil­i­tary vet­eran stu­dents, as well as those who are the first in their fam­i­lies to at­tend col­lege,” said Joanne Davis, in­terim vice pres­i­dent for com­mu­nity en­gage­ment and ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor of the FAU Foun­da­tion. “I would also like to thank all of our spon­sors, donors and host com­mit­tee mem­bers once again for their sup­port.”

The Amer­i­cana themed party will fea­ture gourmet din­ing, an open bar, live mu­sic rang­ing from Mo­town to jazz, a half­time ex­trav­a­ganza with fire­works and more. The open-air Del­ray Hyundai Pri­or­ity Club will fea­ture cui­sine from the north­east, south­east, bayou, south­west and west coast re­gions of the coun­try. Vo­cal­ist Chloe Dolan­dis will per­form live.

Live and silent auc­tions will fea­ture items such as a $10,000 Saks Fifth Av­enue shop­ping spree, a sta­dium suite for 20 at an FAUhome foot­ball game, golf out­ings, jew­elry, sports me­mora­bilia, va­ca­tions, a 60-minute he­li­copter tour, and a day of high-per­for­mance sports car rac­ing at Se­bring In­ter­na­tional Race­way.
