FAU’s ‘Making Waves Gala’ supports veterans and first-generation students
Florida Atlantic University (FAU) will host the “MakingWaves Gala” March 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Martin F. and Jane Greenberg Foundation Tower of the FAU Stadium on the Boca Raton campus. Proceeds will help provide scholarships and support for veterans and first-generation students.
“The ‘MakingWaves Gala’ is an opportunity for our friends in the local community to join us for an evening of fun, food and entertainment, while raising funds to support our military veteran students, as well as those who are the first in their families to attend college,” said Joanne Davis, interim vice president for community engagement and executive director of the FAU Foundation. “I would also like to thank all of our sponsors, donors and host committee members once again for their support.”
The Americana themed party will feature gourmet dining, an open bar, live music ranging from Motown to jazz, a halftime extravaganza with fireworks and more. The open-air Delray Hyundai Priority Club will feature cuisine from the northeast, southeast, bayou, southwest and west coast regions of the country. Vocalist Chloe Dolandis will perform live.
Live and silent auctions will feature items such as a $10,000 Saks Fifth Avenue shopping spree, a stadium suite for 20 at an FAUhome football game, golf outings, jewelry, sports memorabilia, vacations, a 60-minute helicopter tour, and a day of high-performance sports car racing at Sebring International Raceway.
