Cure what ‘ales’ you at Snook and Game­fish Foun­da­tion’s day of beer and beats

les for An­glers,” a one-day event with green ini­tia­tives, is set to take place March 29 from 2:30 to 9 p.m. at the Sun­set Cove Am­phithe­ater in Boca Ra­ton.

The event will bring to­gether craft beer, home brew, fish­ing and mu­sic en­thu­si­asts in cel­e­brat­ing Florida liv­ing. All pro­ceeds sup­port the Snook and Game­fish Foun­da­tion, com­prised of an­glers ded­i­cated to pro­tect­ing Florida fish­eries.

As an ef­fort to help pro­tect Florida’s en­vi­ron­ment, or­ga­niz­ers have im­ple­mented green ini­tia­tives, which in­clude canned wa­ter and canned drinks in­stead of plas­tic, car­pool­ing shut­tles from ho­tels of­fer­ing group rates along Glades Road (Re­nais­sance Boca Ra­ton Ho­tel, Hil­ton Suites Boca Ra­ton, and Boca Ra­ton Hol­i­day Inn Ex­press), and us­ing en­vi­ron­men­tally friendly prod­ucts and ven­dors.

The craft beers served at the event will be pro­duced by Florida brew­eries. There will be a va­ri­ety to choose from, in­clud­ing Cigar City, which has won many na­tional awards. Guests can also en­joy un­lim­ited home brew sam­plings from sev­eral lo­cal brew­ers dur­ing the first hour of the event and at­ten­dees can vote for their fa­vorite. Each choice will be ac­com­pa­nied by a de­tailed de­scrip­tion, help­ing guests make their se­lec­tions.

In keep­ing with the event’s theme, Shake Your Hips and Wet Your Lips, Florid­ian band JJ Grey & Mofro will be the head­liner for the day’s mu­si­cal en­ter­tain­ment.
