Cancer survivors to strut the runway at ‘Top Hats& Tea Cups’
The annual “Top Hats & Tea Cups” floral fashion show will take place April 27, from12:30 to 3:30 p.m., at the PGANational Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens. The show will feature 15 cancer survivors and their medical providers displaying original floral designs, along with a special “top hat” category for male cancer survivors.
“Top Hats & Tea Cups” will allow florists throughout South Florida the opportunity to explore their creativity by creating floral millineries while raising funds for an important cause. Following the event, attendees will bid on the featured hats, take part in the annual raffle for prizes and bid on silent auction items.
The annual fundraiser supports Ali’s Alliance Inc., a searchable database of support and resources available for individuals and families dealing with cancer and caregiving. Named in honor of founder and honorary co-chair David J. Cowan Sr.’s late wife, Alison Arnesen Cowan, Ali’s Alliance serves individuals throughout the U.S.
“Knowing Ali’s Alliance is there is a blessing for those first receiving their diagnosis,” said co-chairwoman Kelly Seitz, who is also a cancer survivor. “I am excited to be a part of this unique event which is not only fun, but serves an organization that helps so many.”
The event is co-chaired by Seitz and Chris Collins.
“I remember whenmy mom went through all of her treatments and how she felt about her appearance. I wish she had been able to have someone put a lovely hat on her, and do things to boost her self-esteem. The entire experience has just been great, and thanks to Chris, Kelly and everyone helping out, it’s going to be an event to remember,” said honorary co-chairman Todd Johnson, who lost his mother to ovarian cancer.
Tickets are $60 per person and children’s “princess” tickets cost $50. For more information, call Kelly Seitz at 561-315-5477 or visit www.AlisAlliance.org.
