Pro­vid­ing a home and lots of hope SOS Chil­dren’s Vil­lages - Florida’s an­nual gala to raise funds for fos­ter chil­dren

SOS Chil­dren’s Vil­lages - Florida will host its 18th an­nual “Hope and Home Gala” April 26 at the Bo­caWest Coun­try Club. The evening will ben­e­fit the chil­dren liv­ing in the Co­conut Creek fos­ter care neigh­bor­hood.

The or­ga­ni­za­tion pro­vides care and guid­ance to the 75 chil­dren liv­ing in the vil­lage. SOS pro­grams also pro­vide vi­tal on-site ser­vices such as ther­apy, tu­tor­ing and life skills. Each SOS child is em­pow­ered to think about their fu­ture in a pos­i­tive light and is pro­vided the tools to pur­sue their goals and dreams.

SOS has helped raise more than 450 youth since first open­ing its doors in1993. The com­mu­nity of vol­un­teers and friends has played an in­te­gral role in pro­vid­ing the op­por­tu­ni­ties and sup­port that helps each child heal and thrive as they grow.

The first gen­er­a­tion of chil­dren to grow up in the vil­lage has started to make a pos­i­tive im­pact in the com­mu­nity as teach­ers, po­lice of­fi­cers, en­trepreneurs and com­mu­nity lead­ers giv­ing back to those who helped them.

“Our an­nual cel­e­bra­tion is a chance to rec­og­nize the won­der­ful ef­fect the vil­lage has on the lives of fos­ter chil­dren in South Florida. And, the money we raise en­sures the boys and girls will con­tinue to re­ceive the help they need and the home they de­serve,” said Kristina Stein, event chair­woman.

Fes­tiv­i­ties will in­clude cock­tails, food, dancing and more. Silent and live auc­tions will fea­ture prizes such as an NYC Fash­ion Week pack­age, a Ve­gas get­away and more.
