Cri­sis hot­line ‘speaks easy’ with fundrais­ing shindig at Polo Club

The In­ter­na­tional Polo Club Palm Beach will be tak­ing on a1920s flare when “Lounge 211” takes over Nov. 21from7 p.m. to10 p.m. The Speakeasy-themed shindig will ben­e­fit 211HelpLine, Palm Beach County’s non­profit com­mu­nity helpline and cri­sis hot­line that pro­vides empathetic guid­ance and support to in­di­vid­u­als in need.

Co-chairs Christina and Monte Lam­bert and Janie and Jon Fogt are shak­ing things up for the agency’s11th an­nual event. Over­look­ing the polo field, guests will en­joy com­pli­men­tary themed cock­tails, sing-a-long to du­el­ing pi­ano-style en­ter­tain­ment and ’20s-style food sta­tions. A bour­bon bar, an over­flow­ing mar­tini sta­tion, a cigar rolling post, celebrity black­jack ta­bles and an elab­o­rate silent auc­tion are some of the ac­tiv­i­ties that guests will be able to par­take in at this un­der­ground speakeasy. Bounc­ers will be man­ning the door to en­sure no­body gets in, un­less they knowthe se­cret pass­word-keep­ing true to the pro­hi­bi­tion era. Guests are asked to wear fash­ion­able, cock­tail chic at­tire, with au­then­tic1920s at­tire wel­come but not manda­tory.

Tick­ets for the Lounge 211 “Speaks Easy” - a play on­words for the tele­phone-based cri­sis hot­line - are $150, or guests can pay an in­creased ticket price of $211to support the agency’s mar­ket­ing ef­forts to help en­sure that ev­ery per­son in cri­sis knows of 211’s ex­is­tence. Th­ese guests will also re­ceive some on­site good­ies for their higher do­na­tion.
